Standing in solidarity with our Asian-American Community
Dear Saints community,
On Wednesday morning we awoke to horrific news; eight lives were lost in a series of shootings at massage parlors in Atlanta, Georgia. Six of these victims were Asian-American women. While there is much to learn about how and why these senseless attacks occurred, we know that hate and animosity towards our . This violence has particularly targeted women and the elderly.
As a Benedictine community, we condemn these acts of racism and misogyny. We condemn these atrocities that impact the safety and mental health of our own Asian-American students, faculty and staff.
To our Asian-American brothers and sisters, we stand in solidarity and mourn with you. You, and all of our BIPOC community, are beloved and welcomed members of the 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ family. Our prayers are with you, and the families of these victims, always.
